Privacy Policy

Last updated: 01 September 2026

This policy covers refacint.com. It describes what this website collects, who it goes to, and how to stop it. It does not cover software we build for clients under a separate contract.

Who we are

Refacint Technologies is a company registered in Nigeria (RC 9417257) and based in Lagos. Under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023, we are the data controller for personal data collected through this website. You can reach us at hello@refacint.com.

The short version

This site has no contact form, no newsletter, no comments, and no visitor accounts. It sets no cookies on a normal visit. We use cookieless analytics, and we store a record if you turn on blog notifications. That is all.

What we collect

Analytics

We use Vercel Web Analytics to count page views. It sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device. Instead of following you with an identifier, it works out an anonymous hash from your request, and that is discarded after 24 hours, so there is nothing that links one visit to the next beyond a day.

According to Vercel, each page view records:

We see this only as aggregate counts. We cannot single you out in it, and it does not follow you to any other website. If you would still rather not be counted, any tracker blocker will stop it, and nothing on this site breaks if you do.

Blog notifications

At the bottom of each blog post there is a button to get a browser notification when we publish something new. It does nothing unless you press it and allow the permission prompt. If you do, we store:

We use it for one thing: sending a notification when a new post goes up. We never send anything else, and we do not ask for your email address. Sending a notification means passing it through your browser vendor's push service, which is the only way web notifications work.

Press "Unsubscribe" and we delete the record. Not disabled or archived, deleted. You can also revoke the permission in your browser settings. We delete the record automatically too, as soon as your browser's push service tells us the subscription no longer exists.

Server logs

This site is hosted on Vercel, which keeps standard request logs containing IP addresses, requested URLs, and browser strings. These are generated by the hosting platform rather than by us, and we use them only to diagnose errors and abuse.

What we do not do

If you email or message us

The contact page has email links and WhatsApp links. Neither one collects anything by itself. Clicking an email link opens your own mail app, and nothing reaches us until you press send. Clicking a WhatsApp link takes you to WhatsApp, which is run by Meta under its own privacy policy, and shares your phone number with us the same way any WhatsApp message would.

When you do contact us, we keep the message and your contact details for as long as we need them to answer you and to keep a record of any work that follows.

Where your data is stored

Our database is Neon, running on Amazon Web Services in the us-east-1 region in the United States. The site itself is hosted on Vercel, which serves and processes requests on infrastructure outside Nigeria.

This means data collected through this site is transferred outside Nigeria, which the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 treats as a cross-border transfer. We rely on these providers' own contractual data protection terms for that transfer. In practice the only visitor data we hold abroad is a notification record, and only if you asked for one. If you would rather avoid it entirely, do not turn on notifications. It is not needed to read the site.

How long we keep things

Cookies

This site sets no cookies on a normal visit. Our analytics are cookieless, and we use no advertising or tracking cookies. The site does not use local storage either.

The one cookie that exists is a login cookie on the admin area at /admin. It is set only when a member of our team signs in, and never for visitors.

This is why you will not see a cookie consent banner here. There is nothing to consent to: nothing is stored on your device and nothing we collect identifies you.

Your rights

The Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 gives you the right to ask what personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to how we use it, to withdraw consent you have given, and to receive a copy of it.

Email hello@refacint.com and we will respond within 30 days. Bear in mind that for analytics we hold aggregate reports rather than anything tied to you by name, so there may be nothing to hand over. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.

Children

This site is aimed at businesses and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.

Changes

If we change what this site collects, we will update this page and the date at the top. We will not add new tracking without saying so here.
